How it works

Grade once. Apply consistently.

Your paper exam and rubric stay the same. notasis takes on the repetitive work; the decision always stays with you.

01

Set up the exam and rubric

Upload the blank exam PDF and draw rectangles around the student-ID area and each question's answer area. The assistant suggests question text and rubric items; you edit them.

02

Upload the papers

Upload scans as one combined PDF or one PDF per student. Pages are aligned to the template and papers are matched to your roster; you confirm the matching.

03

Review the groups

The assistant maps each answer to your existing rubric items; answers with the same combination form a group. Blank answers get their own group, and unmatched ones arrive ungrouped.

214 students · published

04

Grade and publish

Grade a group once and the decision applies to every answer in it. When every answer is resolved, publish; students can request a regrade per question.

Human-controlled

The assistant suggests. You decide.

The assistant never writes rubrics or assigns grades; it only maps answers to the rubric items you defined. Every suggested mapping is drawn dashed, like pencil, and nothing is scored until you confirm it.

  • Suggestions: dashed, graphite
  • Your decisions: solid, ink
  • Every grade change recorded with who and when

Features

Built for paper exams.

Scanned exams

Upload all papers as one PDF or one PDF per student. Rotated, shifted or differently margined scans are aligned to the template; a page that can't be aligned is flagged for review, never skipped silently.

AI-assisted question setup

As soon as you select an answer area, the assistant suggests the question text, question type and possible rubric items. Accept them, edit them, or write your own.

Student matching

The name and student ID on each paper are read and matched to your roster. You resolve unmatched or conflicting papers; grading doesn't start until you confirm.

Dynamic rubrics

Change an item's points and every affected grade is recalculated; confirmed groups stay exactly as they are.

Grade as a team

Instructors and TAs grade the same exam at once; an answer or group one person has open is never handed to another.

Individual grading for exceptions

Ungroup an answer that needs a different grade and grade it on its own; the rest of the group is unchanged.

Blank answers

Blank answers collect in their own group; move a wrongly detected one back in one click.

Progress tracking

See at a glance how many answers are graded per question and what's left.

Publish, correct, republish

Corrections after publishing stay hidden from students until you republish.

Regrade requests

Students request a regrade per question, with a reason; you approve or reject.

Roster and entrance codes

Add students by CSV or by hand, or let them join with a course entrance code.

Frequently asked questions

Questions, answered

Does AI assign the grades?

No. The assistant only maps each answer to the rubric items you defined; it never creates new items or categories. You confirm the groups and you give the grade; nothing unconfirmed reaches a student.

Do I need to change my exams?

No. The one requirement is that every student's paper has the same page count, order and layout as the template. Rotated or shifted scans are aligned automatically.

Can students upload their own papers?

Not yet. Instructors or TAs upload the papers. Students see their grades, the rubric items applied and feedback, and can request a regrade per question.

What does the free plan cover?

1,000 question gradings. Even when you grade a group in one action, each answer in it counts once; correcting or regrading the same answer doesn't count again. At the limit you can still view all your existing results.

How is student data processed?

Answer images are processed through the OpenAI API for rubric mapping. [DATA PROCESSING AND KVKK DETAILS]

What if the assistant groups an answer wrongly?

Before confirming, correct the group's rubric mapping, remove an answer from the group, or mark it blank. After confirming, you can still ungroup a single answer and grade it on its own.
